On September 12, I was cordially invited to Dan Ruttenberg’s birthday party on the dock at the Columbia Island Marina near Reagan National Airport! It was the day after the 25th anniversary of September 11. This was a must do show. As usual the party was jumping and I bothered Dan not only for an outlet on his yacht, but to use his forward cabin as the music was blaring! There was no Grand Gunk Railroad but there was some AC/DC! And of course, Dan was more than gracious!
As the party was in full swing, I noticed right across the bay was the Pentagon! I was going to do the show right near the Pentagon! I don’t know of any other radio show or podcast broadcasting live outside the Pentagon!
It was a rough show. First Mike was out again from smoking too much racoon poop, and the subject matter was difficult. We also mentioned the one-year anniversary of Charlie Kirk’s murder! But Dan came one once again and killed!
But; if its wasn’t for Dan inviting me. and letting me turn his yacht into a radio studio, the show wouldn’t be as epic as it was. I like to thank Dan for his hospitality, patience, friendship and the great scotch we shared on the radio! The people on this radio show and the people I break bread with are as important to me as the people with my last name. That’s why I call all of them family!
