America at 250!

July 4, 2026

250! Two hundred and fifty years the American experiment is still going strong. We all know there’s a million problems going on in our nation. We chronicle it every week. But; there is so much that we have forgot and we take for granted. Here’s a rundown on what makes this nation the best on planet Earth and how the 75 Radio family has done in these United States!

Government: Our founding fathers were brilliant in forming our Republic. Three equal branches of government with the balance of power where each branch has oversight over one another. The electoral college to elect the president was genius. If the presidency was a strictly popular vote, New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago and Philadelphia would pick our president. The chief executive can only hold office for two
terms and can be thrown out. The Congress is bi-cameral. One house is based on the population of each state and the other house has the exact same number of representatives from each state. Wyoming has the exact same amount of senators as California. And the judicial system has judges appointed by the president and confirmed by the senate!

In terms of our Constitution, the founding fathers gave each citizen a Bill of Rights. Here
are the really important ones!

First Amendment: the freedom of speech, press, religion, assembly and to petition the
government.

Second Amendment: As “Matt” from Saturday Night Live said: guns!

Fourth Amendment: the government needs to articulate (have a good reason) to shake
us down

Fifth and Amendment: we have rights in judicial proceedings. It’s up to the government
to prove that we did it!

Tenth Amendment: restrict government overreach. This amendment limits government
authority.

Military: America has one of the largest, most advanced, well-trained, motivated and prepared military force in the world. Some names of military units alone inspire awe and fear. Delta, Airborne, SEAL, Marine Recon, Green Berets. Then there are the warriors who became legendary: Jack Pershing, Alvin York, Dwight Eisenhower, Audie Murphy, Chris Kyle, Chesty Puller, and George Patton.

Technology: America has and is still ahead of the technological curve in terms of technology. Our lives have become so much better because of the people who made a difference. Light bulbs, electricity, washing machines, medicines, telephones, refrigeration, microwave ovens, elevators, internal combustion engines, air conditioning, airplanes, computers, the internet and the smart phone. We owe Americans such as: Franklin, Tesla, Whitney, Ford, Westinghouse, Jobs, Otis, Carrier, Perkins, Edison and
Les Paul a huge debt of gratitude.

Entertainment: America has the best entertainment around. Period. We invented the movie camera and television. We also invented rock and roll. Nobody comes close to what we produce in terms of entertainment, Movies, television, radio, podcasting, video games, books, professional sports and amusement parks.

The Underdog. America loves the underdog. We came up with the Underdog character!
We love it when the Underdog comes out on top. Some famous Underdog stories include: the 1980 US Olympic hockey team, Chris Gardner who was a homeless stockbroker who became a success and Sylvester Stallone who risked it all for “Rocky.”

As America constantly root for the underdog, we are also a nation of forgiveness. When those on top fall from grace, we applaud them when they rise back on top. Some of those people include: Donald Trump, Muhammad Ali, Mel Gibson and Robert Downey, Jr.

As for 75 Radio; we have our own Made in America stories:

Mike Rakebrandt: Mike joined the Navy to serve his country. He became a Hospital Corpsman. An EMT in a warzone with no weapon! No thanks! Mike joins the NYPD. During COVID he was told to get the jab or leave the job. Mike had a large family to care for. And he left the job! Mike decided to run for Congress and his campaign was derailed because he wasn’t part of the old boys club. Mike went into business for
himself as an exterminator, and works nights as security and co-hosts 75 Radio in between naps!

Danila Rodrigues: Came to America around a quarter century or so ago! Became a champion bodybuilder, model, nurse and a business owner! While raising three beautiful kids. In 2023, she decided to enter in the world of media and become the world’s first radio spokesmodel! Danila made Talkers magazine twice!

Scoop Stanton: Scoop’s motto is: “Fail and fail again.” Scoop achieved his dream of entering the NYPD. He loved it, and was let go! It was his fault. After struggling for three years he eventually enlists in the Navy where he was on a path for a successful career. Then he decided to make things difficult and get married. To keep his wife happy he left the Navy and moved to the Washington DC area where he struggled once again. But; his prayers were answered. James Edwards answered an email and Scoop started living his dream in radio! His prayers were answered again when he and Walter put together 75 Radio! God answered his prayers once again as Scoop got divorced and 75 Radio has taken off with the addition of Mike and Danila! Scoop can’t recall any other time he was this happy!

Walter Yurkiw: Like Mike and Scoop, Walter was a member of the NYPD. Walter got caught up in the scandal at the 75 th Precinct and was ordered to pay his debt back to society. Upon return to society, Walter became a social worker helping those who needed help. In 2014 he went from “corrupt ex-cop” to “movie star” as he was featured in the hit documentary “The Seven Five.” Now, Walter is known as a “radio star” as he burns up the airwaves every Saturday!

May God continue to bless the United States of America.
