This eyesore is the Obama Presidential Center. Not the Obama Presidential Library. The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) are responsible for all digital, print and Presidential artifacts. Those are currently stored in Maryland not at the Chicago eyesore!
And of course since it’s in Chicago and Democrats are involved, you already know the project has been totally mismanaged! Contractors hired for the construction claim that they are owed money for services rendered. Some contractors allege they are owed millions of dollars! There was a fund established by the Obama Foundation that promised to have $470 million in reserves for the contractors. But apparently there’s only $1 million available. Oops.
Then there’s the cost to Illinois taxpayers. Even though the center is privately funded, the infrastructure around the area (streets, water, sewers) are the responsibility of the city and state. Fox News could not get an accurate estimate, but estimates are as high as $200 million! That’s money the Obama Foundation is not responsible for!
And the kicker is, for those who want an Illinois resident discount, you have to provide an Illinois ID. The staff should take the word of everyone who says they are an Illinois resident!
