Employees of the Long Island Railroad are on strike as the Union and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) could not agree on a contract. 300,000 people are unable to get to and from work. And not everyone can work from home. Construction workers, tradesmen, mechanics, cops, firefighters, medical providers, teachers, all have to go to work. And of course the MTA is not going to suspend the congestion pricing below 59th Street in Manhattan. Hochul and company said that the congestion pricing would encourage people to use the MTA and not drive!
This is another disaster of Governor Hochul. New York State is paying $600 million for the new stadium for the Buffalo Bills. The new stadium will be a privately owned building! Then there’s Wynn Hospital in Utica, NY. New York State paid $300 million for a new hospital. Utica had three hospitals in the area. Now they have only one! With the combination of three hospitals, there is now less beds than before, often patients are stuck in the emergency room until there is a room available Also the drop off area for ambulances is too small so patients are literally sitting in the back of an ambulance until room is available!
And of course, we know Governor Hochul encouraged people who want to keep more of their money to move out! Then she begged them to come back. Just to fund the socialism for New York State. As the saying goes the problem with socialism is that you run out of other people’s money. But; look for Hochul to win again. The only people left to vote in New York are the people living off the government!
