Our friend Alessandra Griffitt put out a post for her boyfriends band Under The Covers. And we came! Deep! The venue was Ned’s in Herndon Virginia. It’s a nice Irish bar with a nice crowd. I got there late and I walk in and I knew everyone! It was like a family reunion. Unfortunately Danila couldn’t make it because she was at a function on the other side of the county with more friends of ours!
The band was on point as usual! DJ Echo Mike was now the bands manager. Hopefully he manages the band like Led Zeppelin’s Peter Grant. Frontman Brian Bourne was born to be a front man. He really had the crowd in his spell. The band kept in tune. They killed on a Prince song, and I hate Prince! My only (stupid) complaint was that they don’t play the music my parents didn’t like when they were youngsters. No Mountain, no Grand Funk Railroad and no Quicksilver Messenger Service. But the band kicked ass! It was my fourth show. Since January!
The best part by far was hanging out with people I truly love. It took me 20 minutes just to say goodbye to everyone, which I don’t mind.Whatever it is, we show up! These are the few people in DC who are down to earth and a blast to hang out with. I consider myself very blessed knowing these wonderful people!
