When people talk about government is inefficiency they either talk about the DMV or the Post Office. People have been complaining about the Post Office before the internet, Amazon, Carvana, and other delivery services. Now forget it! The USPS is a mess and the Democrats want it this way!
Years ago we had delivery for six days a week and rural delivery per Congressional mandate. Through the years along came the telephone, fax machine, email, text, social media, skype, Zoom, and a whole bunch of other ways to talk to each other. Mail has dropped over the years. We still have six days a week delivery and rural delivery. We also have mail getting lost, long lines at the local post office to buy stamps, send packages, purchase money orders and other services. There is never enough people at the counter. Your local store or Walmart will call additional cashiers. Not the USPS. Your local letter carrier now is usually a part time individual wearing street clothes. You don’t know if they are delivering mail or painting a house. At my place we have a group of mailboxes. I requested the locks to be changed. I had to pay I think it was $35 for the new lock. They put in the new lock and my key did not work. I went back to the Post Office and complained and they wanted to charge me for a new lock! I had to tell them that I paid for a new lock and the key they provided does not work! Finally I got a new lock with new keys!
Now the great idea for voting is via the USPS! We already have dead people voting at the polls. And now we are going to vote via mail. Donald Trump called for much needed changes for the USPS, and the Democrats are acting as if Donald Trump is opening concentration camps! Some politicians are actually calling for the arrest of the Postmaster General! Also 20 State Attorney Generals are suing Trump over this. Add to the fact that the Letter Carrier Union endorsed Joe Biden.
So Trump balked and said the much needed changes will take place after the election. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez suggested a way to save the Post Office. Start a Pen Pal program! This is not a joke!

I worked for the PO in NYC in the early 1970s and I was amazed that any mail got delivered correctly or on time. Most of the mail sorters were obese, illiterate Black women who had been eased into a cushy union job for life. They did the bare minimum of work every shift.
Voting by mail is too open to fraud. As it is, absentee ballots only get counted if they can possibly change the outcome. But all those mail ballots laying around can easily be used to fix elections. If the entire or most of the electorate can vote by mail – forget about it! I think absentee voting is necessary and fair but it should be an exception not the main way Americans vote.
Get ready for a very bizarre campaign followed by a protracted and very dirty legal fight no matter who wins.
