Wet Pursuit!

Deputies in Volusia County Florida (Daytona) were placing a man under arrest when he took off and attempted escape in a nearby river. Deputies used kayaks to pursuit! This is embarrassing for a number of reasons. First: If you are taking someone in custody, make sure you have them in custody. Handcuffs! Positive control of your prisoner. Second: unless the perp committed a serious felony, don’t go in the water! He will come back to shore. Wait. Or call for a marine unit! What was this man’s crime? Loitering, prowling and resisting arrest!
