LA Mayor Karen Bass can’t get anything right! Bass who was Mayor last year while her city burned signed a law that raises the minimum wages of hotel workers. Hotel workers will now get paid a minimum of $22.50 and $30 per hour in 2028! Why did Bass do this? Because of the hotel workers’ unions! And here’s the thing. Most of these hotels are franchises. They are not owned by Hilton Marriott or Hyatt! These are small business owners!
Why is Bass doing this? For votes. All those maids, busboys, bell hops, and laundry people are going to vote for her. Well the ones still on the job. You can expect job losses, higher rates, hours cut, contracting out work and loss of revenue as conventions will go elsewhere!
