We’re not saying this to be funny or to make a point or just to get clicks. This show consists of three Members of the Service (MoS) whose careers have been cut short for a variety of reasons, mostly self-inflicted. But we are all very proud that we served with the greatest police department in the world!
Monday afternoon in Washington Square Park a large snowball fight broke out. It was getting a little out of hand and the police were called. Police responded and were pelted with snowballs. And the cops walked away. This was almost as bad as when two MoS were doused with water.
There’s plenty of blame to go around. First the Mayor’s Office has been anti-cop since Bill de Blasio came into power. Remember when Hizzonor told us he had to give his son “the talk” about dealing with police!? Then there’s the City Council which hates the NYPD more than the Mayor. Then there’s Delta House formally known as One Police Plaza. No leadership whatsoever. Too busy fooling around with one another! Of course there’s the media and trolls looking to ruin a cops life when a split second decision goes wrong. The Police Academy staff are also to blame. When we went through on East 20th St. we were taught we ran the streets. We were in charge. We were the law.
And the final piece of blame go to the cops. Law Enforcement around America has become reactive instead of proactive, except for those who love writing tickets to get the court overtime! Cops have families, mortgages, car notes and bills. Who doesn’t enjoy a steady paycheck? Who wants to be harassed, doxxed, called in for questioning and lose their job over some shitbag!?
Things are going to get worse before they get better!
