For his inauguration, Mayor Zohran Mamdani was sworn in at New York’s 112th Mayor just after midnight on New Year’s Day. The person officiating the oath: New York State Attorney General Letitia James! Then at the inauguration ceremony at City Hall, Hizzoner was given the oath once again by Senator Bernie Sanders from Vermont!
Opening remarks at the inauguration were provided by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (D-Queens)! New York is the home of the New York Stock Exchange, the banking industry and numerous brokerage houses. New York also has skyscrapers, numerous luxury hotels, luxury apartments, mansions, art galleries, a great transit system, and so on. New York was built on capitalism so the new mayor is aligns himself with some of the most anti-capitalist people in America!
But: Letitia James is a land baron owning some homes in Virginia. Bernie Sanders only goes after billionaires since he is a millionaire, and AOC is worth between $30,000 and $30,000,000! Its’ safe to say its somewhere in the middle. BUT: she did spend $50k on two trips to Puerto Rico!
As for Mayor Mamdani, he is also a man of the people. His wife Rama Duwaj attended the midnight swearing in wearing boots that apparently cost $630. People can spend how ever much on whatever they want, but don’t go around preaching affordability when your better half wears boots worth more than Scoop Stanton’s entire wardrobe!
