This is way too long for a Facebook entry. I had the fortunate privilege of being invited to a Memorial Day pool party at the home of Dan Ruttenberg. To put it bluntly: Dan is a great guy who knows how to throw a party!

I was up in Yhanundasis for the weekend destroying my liver. Dan’s party stars at 2pm. I left at 5:40 am! I drove 7 1/2 hours to pick up the kids and pick up food from my buddy Rich who smoked and precooked these ribs! I looked like I’ve been on a 3-day bender!

At the party, there is plenty of food! And booze! And everyone brought something to eat and drink! I also brought my hungry rugrats who have an appetite as big as their father’s!

What’s great about Dan is that he’s in my circle of friends, so there were a boatload of my fiends. Too many to mention because I will leave people out. But they know who they are! I also made some new ones!

And as instructed there was no talk about politics. Just polite casual conversation, some business and plenty of bad jokes! All from me! One bomb after another! And I was sober!

But: this did turn into a “75 Radio” event! What do I mean? If the entire “75 Radio” DC family shows up somewhere, it’s a “75 Radio” event! Funerals included! Those are the rules! I knew Ed was coming but I didn’t know the World’s First Radio Spokesmodel was coming!

So, Danila decided she was going to hop in the hot tub with a number of other ladies! And man did she look good in that swimsuit! Did I take a picture. Of course not! My phone does not have a telephoto lens. Yet. I asked Ed if saw Dani in her suit. He did. My only complement for the absolutely gorgeous Queen Danila was: “That’s ’75 Radio!'” And I was stone cold sober when I said it! Now I would have joined Ms. Rodrigues in the hot tub but Mike Rakebrandt wanted his bedazzled g-string back! Sorry Dani!

But the man of the hour was Dan Ruttenberg! The man. The myth. The legend. The host. This man was doing it all. Frying turkeys (absolutely delicious), cooking, talking, dancing, working his ass off. I was getting tired watching him! Thank you very much Dan for your generous hospitality and more importantly your friendship!
