Virginia Rep Gerard “Gerry” Connolly has passed away at the age of 75 from cancer of the esophagus. I feel sorry for the Connolly family. Here’s another textbook reason for term limits. He’s 75, suffering from esophageal cancer, yet he remained in Congress up until his death. He could have spent his final years enjoying his family. But like 99% of Congress, he has to be in his seat of power, especially in front of the camera.
In terms of his time in office, he listened to his constituents: rich liberal Beltway insiders. “Cookie Monster” was more concerned with carrying the Democrat party line than listening to his constituents. The interstates are parking lots seven days a week. The Metro system is a mess. His constituents who actually work can’t afford to live in his district because illegal alien gangbangers live 10 to a house in places like Herndon and Centreville, when the job cuts came, nothing from his office. Nothing from Connolly on the debt ceiling, Social Security, crumbling infrastructure, illegal alien invasion in his backyard or wasteful spending. But; he was front and center when Trump closed the USAID Office. In Downtown DC! And if you were one of his constituents and needed assistance from his office like Marco in Taken “Good luck.” So with Connolly’s selfishness Virginia’s 11th District is without a leader for now. The 11th will have to have a special election and whoever is the new Representative for the 11th will have no seniority. So the 11th gets screwed, again!
