The District of Columbia government is changing the name of Black Lives Matter Plaza on 16th St NW. DC Mayor Muriel Bowser is not happy, but she is doing it because Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-GA) introduced a bill in Congress to withhold money to DC unless “Black Lives Matter” is removed from the street!
As someone who travels in this part of town often, I say good riddance. 2020 in DC was a disaster. We were going through COVID, the city was burning and Mayor Bowser was too busy travelling to Delaware to celebrate Joe Biden’s victory. The term Black Lives Matter is a reminder of not only of the difficult time for not only DC, but for America. The organization was nothing but a scam. Black Lives were helped. The organizers were able to buy numerous homes! The rest of black America got nothing! Add to the fact that it divided Americans; black vs white to such a point most of us has never seen. This is exactly what the media wanted. Fortunately Black Lives Matter went the way of the hula hoop, MC Hammer pants and the mullet. We got enough going on. Do we really have time to fight our neighbors over a lie!?
