Happy Anniversary Danila!

I always say “Things happen for a reason.” On June 29, 2023 I attended my friends Ed Huebner’s birthday party. There were people in ages from 100 days to 100 years old. Also there was an exorbitant amount of beautiful women there. “How the hell does Ed know all these women!? I only know Ed.” At the party there was one gorgeous woman that stuck out from the crowd. What was she doing there? Was she at the right event? I bellied up to the bar right next this beautiful lady to get a refill of my soda since I had a radio show to do as it was a gift for Ed. I did what I do best: text Political Cesspool host James Edwards. “You are not believe this gorgeous lady I’m standing next to.” James wanted proof. No dice. I texted: “Dude, she’s literally right next to me!” I did the show on the patio looking in. The party is in full swing and I’m doing the show outside. Then Ed comes out with a bevy of beauties including the one I was standing next to at the bar! Ed comes on the air and hits out to East 161st Street! During the show, the ladies bummed rushed me for a photo! I was in hog heaven! Ed introduced me to the very nice lady. Her name was Danila Rodrigues. She was as nice as she was beautiful! After the party, Ed said he wanted me to attend a Fourth of July party like no other, and Danila would be there! I’m in!

July 1, 2023. I arrive at the house of Luciano De La Torre. I walk in and literally thought I died and went to heaven. I started sending pictures to James Edwards and he wonders how I got there and did not get thrown out! I go on the Cesspool and kill! For “75 Radio” I book guest Mike Rakebandt and Charlie LeDuff in case the show goes south. The first segment Mike comes on and he kills. Then Charlie comes on and teams up with Walter and our guest to clown me on my clothes, shoes, why am I there, my lack of female company, and so on. It was the funniest two segments in our history. The last segment I invite guests on to talk about the Fourth of July. Danila comes out looks amazing and sounds amazing! I look like a roadie for the Allman Brothers Band. Ed Huebner is snapping pictures and he takes one of me with my right hand in my pocket looking like I’m playing “pocket pool!” Afterwards I said goodbye to Danila, gave her a hug that broke some ribs!

I looked up Danila on Facebook and started following her. I sent her some stupid stuff and she didn’t block me. She actually replied ha ha or something cute. This went on for a month or two. There was something about here that I thought would be great for “75 Radio.” And she didn’t tell me to kick rocks! Then it hit me. She’s a model. She has a great attitude, was good on the air and had something else. I’ll ask her to be a spokesmodel for “75 Radio!” I went online and saw that there was no such thing as a Radio Spokesmodel! She would be the world’s first! I texted Ed Huebner for his opinion and he thought it was a great idea! I emailed Danila, told her my idea sent a link to the website and a link to our archives. I thought what the hell, if she said no “75 Radio” would forge on. But; she said yes! Wow! “She definitely doesn’t know what were about!” I thought. I was elated. For her premiere I thought the Halloween party at Luciano’s house! Ed and Luciano would be there and the party would be off the chain, and I would be there!

October 28, 2023: D-Day. I was still in shock that Danila would join us! And I was afraid she would run for the hills. So, like every week I would have a backup plan. I wanted to bring Mike and Charlie on in case Danila split. Mike had a family emergency and Charlie passed. Damn. But; “The Political Cesspool” was celebrating 19 years on the air and Walter and I had stories we could cover. We were good. 8:15pm: I had to find a quiet place as I was going on “The Political Cesspool.” No Danila. Damn! I turn the corner and……HOLY FUCKING SHIT! There was Danila looking absolutely stunning!

I probably had the same face when I met Ray Manzerek and Robbie Krieger! She said hello. I mumbled something. I showed her my phone and her picture as my wallpaper. I asked for a quick selfie before I go on the Cesspool. I took the first one and it wasn’t that good. She took my phone and presto! The selfie was better than a Donald Trump phone call. I sent that selfie to everyone. I felt the exact same way when I visited Jim Morrison’s grave! Now, I had to do the Cesspool. I was winded and was thinking about the selfie I just took with Ms. Mojo Risin’. It wasn’t my best appearance by a long shot. I went beck into the house and I got a call from Charlie LeDuff. “Good evening sir.” “Let me talk to her!” Charlie got my text. Do I let Charlie talk to Danila or tell Charlie that now is not a good time and he can talk to her maybe later as Charlie had a few “pops.” This is “75 Radio!” I wanted poor Danila to get used to us! “Danila; my friend Charlie wants to say hello. Would you mind saying hello?” The poor lady agreed. Before I handed Danila my phone I said to Charlie: “Don’t fuck this up.” I was looking at Danila and thankfully she had a smile on her face. After the nice conversation, LeDuff was in! Hot dog!

The idea was that me, Walter and Charlie would go after each other during the first half of the show. Clown one another, talk trash, be silly and childish. Then bring Danila on the show and do a “normal” radio show. 10:30 Danila comes on to Hole in the sky. I am nervous as can be. First: I’m sitting one of the most beautiful women in the world. Second: she was one of the nicest people on the planet. Third: I couldn’t believe she is coming on our show. Fourth: I still couldn’t believe she agreed to join “75 Radio.” The music stops and I am a hot mess. I can’t believe this is actually happening. I introduce Danila and Charlie interrupts and I ignore him. LeDuff starts speaking Spanish for reasons only Charlie can explain! I tell Charlie in Spanish to please be quiet. “Oh listen to you Mr. Spanish, she’s Brazilian, she speaks Portuguese!” And we’re off! The request was for him! Charlie keeps speaking Spanish to Danila and I don’t know why, asking her name, her middle name and so on! I ask Danila where she came from in Brazil, how she got into bodybuilding and modeling and why she would agree to be part of this! “Because you’re charming.” I was now melted butter. Back to reality. “Charlie do you have a question for our new family member?” “Did you ever see the movie Blow?” Where in the hell is he going with this!? At this time Ed is snapping pics of this precious moment. I look like I’m about to choke someone, meanwhile Danila looks like she’s having a great time!

I asked Charlie what did this have to do with anything? “I watched it last night. It wasn’t that good.” I turned to Walter for help. I would have been better off calling on Charlie Brown’s teacher. “Danila, do you have red lipstick on you?” Jesus Christ Walter! “Yeah?” “Well put it in your pocket. Scoop might take it from you.” WTF!? We lost our connection with Charlie. Our producer Liz asked if we wanted Charlie back on the air. I said no, but Danila said yes. I looked at Danila and thought: “She is one of us.” We finish and I thought it was our best show ever. James Edwards was blowing up my phone and thought it was our funniest show ever! Despite being our best show, there’s no way this nice lady would want to be a part of this! But she is a trooper. She stuck it out. The next day I got a text from Charlie. He said Danila was sassy, had a great voice and I did a good job getting her! That meant a lot coming from him!

Two days later I Google “Radio Spokesmodel” for grins and giggles. Our press release made it to Talkers Magazine! Talkers is the bible of talk radio. Shell shock was not the word. Not only was I absolutely dumbfounded, I was happy as everyone one the show got mentioned!

In February of this year Danila is a part of New York Fashion Week. This had nothing to do with us. But; not only do we announce that “75 Radio is at New York Fashion Week, but we use our connections with New York’s Finest to keep Danila safe. The pictures of Danila at Fashion Week, she looks like royalty! During this time Walter and I decide to bring Mike Rakebrandt on board. It was like an afterthought with poor Mike. We roll out the red carpet for Danila and do nothing for poor Mike. For the website and the archives I post: “DANILA RODRIGUES ATTENDS NEW YORK FASHION WEEK……..and Mike Rakebrandt joins “75 Radio,” Fortunately Mike got the gag.

On March 16 I attend a St. Patrick’s Day party at the home of Luciano De La Torre! Hell yeah! I pull up in front of Danila’s car. She just arrived also. She get out and looks like an A List actress attending the Oscars. I exit my car looking like a typical driver you see on “Cops.” We say hello and looks amazing! I have some hair out of place and she puts it in place for me!

We walk in the house together and I swear I felt like we were Led Zeppelin walking in! We do the show live and we have a hell of a show. All five of us were on and Heather could only make it for one segment. She absolutely destroyed Fani Willis. We could have ended it right there. But we didn’t. 10:30 I grab Danila for the rest of the show. Let the games begin. I start to talk about St. Patrick and Walter does what he does best. “Scoop, did you paint your nipples green!?” What the hell Walter!? “Walter I thought we were NOT going to talk about this, especially in front of company (Danila)! Our Spokesmodel replied: “I don’t know why, you were showing everyone at the party.” “Danila!” I knew right there not only was she one of us, but she got us! I replied “That’s why she’s “75 Radio.” Towards the end of the show we had an impromptu anniversary show as I couldn’t make it next week. I asked Danila about coming on the show. She said she got my email, looked on the website, listed to some of the archives and decided to join us. “You looked on the website and listened to the show and still decided to join us!?” I was shocked. She is one of us! As anyone knows us, we are something else! One thing about Danila and our other “First Lady of Radio” Heather Powers McBride is that they bring class to the show.

At my other job, I started showing pictures of Danila, as well as Danila and myself and other beautiful people at different events. They too immediately fell in love with Danila. I work with some awesome ladies I call the “work wives.” One day one “work wife” asked how Danila was. I didn’t know. I texted Ms. Rodrigues. “Danila! A work wife wanted to know how you are doing?” Danila replied: “I’m going great!” I showed it to my work wife who thought it was a scream! Danila is referred to as “our favorite person” even though she doesn’t work here! She has an open invite to any of our social functions. Earlier this year some new ladies came to our division and I was tasked to train them. These ladies immediately became “work wives.” I made a deal with these wonderful ladies. “If” they pass all their training, I’ll see if Danila would want to come down and meet them. I can’t guarantee anything and I won’t promise anything. Challenge accepted. So on the last day of May, the new work wives were official! I texted Danila who was happy for the ladies and…….was feeling under the weather! Damn! But; I’m sticking with the plan. I’m taking them out for drinks. At quitting time, I’m getting my phone and heading out. I look at my messages. Danila texted me that she didn’t want to disappoint her fans. She was getting ready and coming down! Scrolling down; she’s en route. Scrolling down: she’s here! I call her and she’s in the parking lot! I call her and tell her: “Don’t move!” I found my boss whose getting into his car and yelled: “She’s here!” We jump into his car and pull up. She gets out and she is wearing white! I made a stupid tradition where everyone in our division wears white on Friday. It’s the closest thing to flying gang colors at work! I was floored! Not only did she make it down, but she wore white! My boss looked shocked. “Oh my God your beautiful! I feel that I already know you because that’s all Petey talks about!” Boss man had to leave. The work wives met us and they too wore white! The wives said the same thing as my boss! Danila told the wives all I text her is work news! Danila and the wives hit it off! I sat at the end, silent. Why mess up something good? At the end of out too short evening, I took a selfie of all of us and right on cue, I messed it up. Leave it to Danila to take good selfies!I gave Danila a too tight hug and broke some vertebrae!

October 26, 2024: It’s 20 years of “The Political Cesspool” and one year with the “World’s First Radio Spokesmodel.” Not only that but Danila was mentioned in Talkers Magazine again! I asked Danila to come on at the top of the hour, 10pm. 9:57pm I’m getting all set for “75 Radio” and I’m watching Danila live on Instagram! Wow! Forget the show, I’d rather watch this Instagram feed! Now I’m getting nervous. One thing about me is that I’m obsessed on being on time. I make sure the kids are in bed then find Danila! 10:01, I get online and our producer Liz tells me Danila is on the line! We go live. It’s Danila, Mike and myself. Walter has company over for the World Series. Danila is on and kills! She’s on for one segment. Later in the show Charlie LeDuff comes on to wish Danila a happy anniversary with us and to compliment her on her talent and complimented me on bringing her on board. Coming from a man like Charlie, that means a lot.

Also this year I had James Edwards do another voiceover for one of our bumpers. Mike and Charlie inspired me as one show I gave a shout out for Danila’s Instagram account. Which I do look at to pick out a picture for our podcast and YouTube channel. LeDuff accuses me of stalking the poor lady and Mike accuses me of going through her garbage! So now at the start of the second segment James Edwards says: “We’re back and Scoop just got done staring at Danila’s Instagram account. Here’s more ’75 Radio.'” I sent it to Danila who thought it was funny! Thank God!

In terms of Danila’s impact on the show; our hits on podcasting, YouTube channel and website traffic went up roughly 50% across the board. When I post something on the website concerning Dani, traffic goes up over 100%! Her name is known to some big names in conservative media. “75 Radio” is running on all cylinders. At CPAC she was a huge hit, even though she wasn’t even there!

I need to thank our friend Ed Huebner for introducing me to Danila. I love hanging out with Ed and Danila. When we do we are a power trio bigger than Rush! But; I can’t thank Danila enough for everything she has done! Not only for “75 Radio” but for me! Thank you for joining the 75 Radio family. Thank you for putting up with people like Walter, Mike, yours truly and Charlie LeDuff. Thank you for your fashion advice, coming down to work meeting the work wives. Thank you for making me a better person and most importantly thank you for being a great friend!
