Warriors and Goddess Saturday

Scoop’s new co-host

Last night August 3rd was Warriors and Goddess Night at Michael’s on King in Alexandria, Virginia. It was an idea that yours truly (Scoop) and image consultant and hostess extrodinaire  Tu-Anh Love came up with.

We wanted men and women to be able to sit around and talk about whatever they wanted to. You know, like we used to. Also; we would do 75 Radio live with Tu-Anh coming on to talk about how to get my act together to meet people! One of the things I needed to do was to cut my hair. I love looking like an Allman Brothers Band roadie! But; this is radio. I bit the bullet and got a hircut.

All week I was talking about a life changing event. My friend Frank asked if I was going to change genders and box in the Olympics!

At Michael’s there were a good amount of ladies and gentlemen enoying real, intelligent conversation. Then it was showtime!

When those Irish eyes are smiling; RUN!

Walter, Mike and myself were talking Olympics and the government media complex. We also had a walk on guest named Jaymee come on. 30 plus year Army veteran. He was a great walk on guest and a hell of a man.  Then came Tu-Anh and my transformation. She would ask me a serious question and Walter would pipe in. I was asked about my “self love” and Walter replied: “three times a day.” It was  a great segment and Tu-Anh was great not being bothered by Walter’s and Mike’s comments towards me.

Afterwards, we were still hanging out. Some of us ended outside the restaurant. I felt like I was at Satriale’s Pork Store on The Soprano’s.

I love Michael’s. It’s like James Bond goes to Cheers. The bar at Michael’s is small with a comfortale room in the back for cigars and conversation. It’s like hanging out in somebody’s house. And Tu-Anh is the hostess with the mostest! She makes sure to make you feel like a regular like Norm or Cliff. This is as soon as you walk in! This happened to me the first time I went to Michael’s for a dinner to raise money. I never left the bar to eat downstairs! But I did eat! Last night as I was playing the Irish Tony Soprano three people were interested in going  upstairs. Tu-Anh went right to work. Some time later she came down to  tell me that they were going to play dominoes! I called it a night as I didn’t want to turn into a pumpkin!

My only complaint is that Tu-Anh doesn’t play rock and roll!  But; her place, her rules! But then again, you never hear 007 cranking up the radio in the Aston-Martin for some Marshall Tucker Band!

Thank you Tu-Anh for all your help!
