A Westchester County New York Corrections Sergeant will probably lose his job for telling a joke on social media. He commented on a picture of Correction Officers from the Georgia Department of Corrections Sergeant Academy (above) stating that they were serving some good biscuits and gravy. Most of the officers in the picture were 1) female 2) black 3) overweight! When I say overweight, I’m talking morbidly obese!
I used to be in law enforcement. I too didn’t keep myself in top physical condition. But this picture takes the cake. I understand that America is at it’s heaviest. I also understand that law enforcement agencies have had to lower its standards to meet recruitment goals, but Holy Shit! That’s why we do have standards! When Officer Stanton is getting his ass kicked in B-Block these are the people coming to my rescue!?
As for being racist; the people complaining are the racists. In my short and forgettable stint in law enforcement, I found out that these men and women rival the armed forces in terms of talking shit! And if you look at the picture, the first thing you see is Georgia’s Boldest all looking like Santa Claus! The critics are more worried about making it a racial issue than having these morbidly obese correction officers working inside the jails! Guaranteed these people will be calling out sick, getting injured on the job, file workers comp for hypertension, high blood pressure, foot and knee and problems and/or on the job injuries! Once retired these people will be a burden on the state of Georgia for those ailments previously mentioned.
As for the race factor, law enforcement is a rainbow of people. These people are the ones who will pull your ass out of the gates of hell. People like Eric Adams wanted to divide us up by race.
Was the post in poor taste? Yes. Law enforcement get enough crap without each other piling on. Was it racist? Absolutely not.
