Johns Hopkins Hospital is one of the premier hospitals in the world. Some of the best doctors in the world practice there. The nursing staff is second to none! I should know. One of my family members was a patient there! Well now Hopkins wants to throw their reputation in the garbage. Hopkins’ Chief Diversity Officer, Dr. Sherita Golden, put in the January diversity newsletter that “privilege” was the word of the month. And some of the people classified privileged included: whites, males, abled bodied, middle and “owning” class, Christians, English speaking people and cis gender people (whatever the hell that means)! And the leaders of Hopkins are……white.
Here’s my message to Dr Golden: I’m a white, Christian, abled bodied middle class English speaking male Dr. Golden. Where is my privilege!? I have been denied so many jobs that I lost count. Ditto for promotions and scholarships. I rent a room in a house that looks like something out of Sandford and Son! I owe the IRS, three banks for credit cards for luxury items such as groceries, gasoline, car repairs, and clothes for my children! My car is ten years old with over 150,000 miles on it and I owe $12,000 on it! Salem radio host (and 75 Radio guest) Brandon Tatum was hired to replace Larry Elder. I have over 18 years radio experience. Tatum has a lot less. Don’t I have privilege over Mr. Tatum Dr. Golden!? Then there’s Sonnie Johnson! She’s been stinking up Sirius XM for years! Why does she still have a show!? I have privilege over her Dr Golden! As for yur employer, should all those brilliant doctors at Hopkins who look like me be replaced!? That’s what America needs. Another disaster of a hospital like MLK in Los Angeles, or Harlem Hospital or Wynn Hospital!
This crap is another pile of dirt in the plot of these United States. The coffin is built with and secured with nails. Now were getting to lower the coffin. Johns Hopkins purpose is to provide healthcare and train the next generation of healthcare providers. Dr Golden’s salary could be better put to use by hiring another doctor, buying more lifesaving equipment or providing scholarships!
