I was invited to a birthday party of a friend of Ed and Danila’s; a cool dude named Luciano. After the 4th of July and Halloween parties; I’m in! I cut work early and drove like Gene Hackman in “The French Connection.”
I showed up and the lovely ladies were snapping away with photographs. I was chit chatting with Ed and in comes the World’s first Radio Spokesmodel: 75 Radio’s own Danila Rogrigues! I was practicing some Brazilian Portugese so say hello; and that went out the window! So did my English! I mumbled something to Danila, gave her a big hug and the party is started.
We had a back room at a Brazilian steakhouse. And somehow I sat at the opposite end of the table from Ed and Danila! No worries because I was talking to some other down to earth and intelligent guests! And the food was off the chain and the drinks strong! One of those kids microphones was passed around with people wishing the guest of honor birthday wishes. It was my turn. I stood up and didn’t need a microphone! I kept it short and clean and thanked Luciano for letting me into his world!
After the party, I was walking Danila to the front door. I swear I hugged that poor woman more times than the dudes coming by me with the food! Why not?
I felt that I fell into a secret society of normal people in Washington DC! Everyone was down to earth and pleasant. Very little politics and none of the DC BS I hear and see constantly. And its mostly awesome looking females! Again thanks to Ed, Danila and Luciano for letting me in!
