Well Washington, DC Mayor Muriel Bowser flew to Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates for a conference on climate change! She flew halfway across the globe to one of the upscale locations on the planet to discuss climate change! I guess nobody heard of Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Skype! She goes to Dubai, then Doha, Qatar in November as DC weather is the pits! She also leaves the District as the Metropolitan Police Department records its 249th homicide for 2023. Car thefts are up 96% and arson is up 125%!
I can imagine the average Washington resident thinking: “Well, someone stole my car and my cousin got shot, and I can’t afford to live in the District despite my family living here for over a century, the roads are falling apart, the schools are terrible, but at least the Mayor is fighting climate change!
