As you all know I love old rock and roll as much as I love doing the horizontal bop! I refuse to call old rock “classic rock.” Recently Lynyrd Skynyrd’s remaining founding member Gary Rossington passed away and we remembered him! And unfortunately all founding members Lynyrd Skynyrd has passed away. And now; Lynyrd Skynyrd is back on tour with ZZ Top!
Personally I think this is embarrassing for the band and all the families. There are no original members of the band on this tour! Johnny Van Zant was Ronnie’s little brother but not an original member and Rickey Medlocke was with the band for two years in the early 70’s and later for the reunion tours. Also in 2022 Skynyrd had a farewell tour! And now they returned with everyone else!
Personally I think its embarrassing that the band is touring again, despite having a farewell tour! Now; the lineup has no original members! Johnny Van Zant is Ronnie’s brother and not an original member and Rickey Metlocke played with the band for 2 years in the 70’s but was not an original member or on the debut album in 1973! I understand you need to put food on the table, but let it go! Lynyrd Skynyrd music will live forever!
