I waited for some time to comment on Elon Musk and Twitter. I wanted to see how this played out. Previously Musk became the biggest shareholder of Twitter, earning a seat in the board which he declined. Musk said he wanted to buy Twitter, buying every share, making it a private corporation and opening up free speech again. As usual, the left lost their cotton picking mind! The left is going bananas because a private citizen wants to purchase a private company. Not to mention Musk is an immigrant! Musk says he wants to open up the dialogue on Twitter!
Speaking of billionaires owning the media, there was dead silence when Bill Gates partnered with NBC to start a news network!? Remember what MSNBC stands for? Microsoft National Broadcasting Company! Microsoft left the news business a decade and a half ago. Later the Bronfman family who made their fortune from Seagram’s booze bought Universal pictures and more recently Jeff Bezos bought the Washington Post! So; its ok if the right billionaire buys a media company.
Then by sheer coincidence, the Securities and Exchange Commission has opened an investigation of Musk and his brother! I’m sure the blue checkmarks from Twitter didn’t call in any favors to the White House to stall Musk. But these people forget. People like Musk have a whole army of attorneys and accountants to fight the government. That’s why the government goes after us and Tea Parties!
We are in a different place than 50 years ago. People would have different opinions but would respect their opinions. Now; the left will do everything to censor anything not part of the woke culture. The left will criticize us for wanting to remove books from school that were paid for by us that are not suitable for people under 18 as they are sexually graphic to a “T”. But; they have no problem telling Amazon to drop books written by conservatives!
