Last week, a photo of a Border Patrol agent on horseback attempting to apprehend an illegal immigrant allegedly from Haiti went viral. It looks like the undocumented migrant was being whipped by the agent. It turns out that the “whip” in question was a part of the rider’s reins. Since the photo was released; President Joe Biden said that those involved will pay. The same feeling was echoed by Press Secretary Jen Psaki. Congresswoman Maxine Waters from California said the incident looked like something we saw in the days of slavery. The Homeland Security Secretary ordered a full investigation. In the meantime, the Border Patrol Agent has been placed on administrative duties as well as the horse in question. The Mounted Unit at this Border Patrol area has been disbanded. The Union representing the horses said that every horse that works for the Border Patrol is dedicated to securing America’s border and has been doing so for decades without incident and many horses working for the Border Patrol are in fact mixed breeds.
The Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, Representative Jarred Nadler (D-NY) promised hearings on horses abusing undocumented immigrants. Ranking Member Jim Jordan (R-OH) said he will be more than happy to piss on Nadler’s parade.
