Our buddy Patrick Ryan is killing it with his podcast and website. For me his website is my Drudge report. Visit it here! Recently he told us about Coca Cola telling people not to be so white. No McDonald’s is pushing diversity in its management positions.
Well I say fine. But why don’t we push diversity where it really counts and the “underrepresented community” is really, really underrepresented. I’m not talking cops, firefighters, managers or other menial jobs. I’m talking really important jobs. Here’s a few jobs I want 25% of all positions to go to people of color!
- Surgeon. Ben Carson is retired. Who wouldn’t be proud knowing your child’s brain surgery or dad’s heart transplant was performed by an African-American or Latino!
- Airplane Mechanic. Cities like Chicago, New York and Atlanta have huge black populations and huge hubs for the airlines. Planes need fixing.
- Bomb Technician. EOD and your local bomb squad are 99% white males. There is an urgent need for diversity in this field. I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the people in this field were in Washington on Jan 6!
- Air Traffic Controller. Refer to number 2. All you need to do is talk and direct traffic. Again; overwhelming white men!
- Pilots. Who’s sick of all these over the hill flyboys with their God Dam swagger?! The movie Flight was a recruitment film for African-Americans to join the airline industry. Do you know who wanted to go in this field? Trayvon Martin!
- Nuclear Power Plant Controller. There are plenty of people of color in the utility business such as meter readers, linemen, high voltage electrician, and other maintenance positions to keep our gas, electric, cable, and phones working. What about the really important jobs? Like the man or woman who watches over the plant that generates nuclear energy? Who can’t make sure the rods are cool? Whites and Asians have been on the switch for decades. And we get Chernobyl, Three Mile Island and Fukishima. Let someone else run the plant who knows what the hell they are doing!
