If you watch television, you probably seen these Modelo beer commercials.
I fucking hate these commercials. These commercials almost always feature some Latino “hero.” Modelo is a beer from Mexico henceforth its market is Mexicans, Fine. But in America!? Mexicans do drink a lot of beer, but so do white people.
Then there is this dude named Anderson .Paak with a period at the beginning of his last name. Who in the name of fuck is this dude!? I will give credit where credit is due: Modelo did feature commercials of veterans. One white female and one Latino.
But stop the presses! Modelo DID run a commercial with a white guy!
An Irish bar owner that stocks Modeo!? Donkey please! Then the announcer says that Modelo is partnering up with the International Rescue Committee to help (wait for it) immigrants and refugees!In America! Of course Mr. Mullins hires a Latina! He’s paying her under the table and is trying to fuck her!
Then there is the background music. The music is a remix of the song The Ecstasy of Gold written by Ennio Morricone from the classic western epic; The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. Morricone like the director Sergio Leone hails from Italy. And the three main actors Clint Eastwood, Eli Wallach and Lee Van Cleef; all American! The best part of the commercial is the song!
